Job Description 

We’re seeking an Analyst for South & South-East Asia with prior experience in the financial industry, especially in banking and non-banking financial institutions. This role contributes to a variety of assignments, including microfinance Institutional Ratings, Social and Environmental Ratings, Impact Assessments, Client Protection Certifications and Assessments across the region.

The role involves participation in the full project cycle—from desk research and data analysis to on-site evaluations and final reporting. MFR provides structured internal training and field missions alongside senior analysts to support continuous professional growth and learning.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Complete 2 assignments per month, including ratings, evaluations, certifications, or assessments.
  • Engage with clients throughout the assignment lifecycle, both on-site and remotely.
  • Perform technical and financial analysis of performance and risk indicators for financial institutions.
  • Draft and finalize high-quality analytical reports under the supervision of a team leader.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the process.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders in inclusive and sustainable finance, including financial. institutions, investors, and networks in the SSEA region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the region.
  • Support additional regional and global initiatives, as required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in the financial industry (banking or non-banking financial institutions).
  • Proven analytical assessment skills, with a focus on financial and credit risk.
  • Confidence and ability to independently engage with senior management, technical partners, and government officials.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and remote teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in a local language such as Bahasa, Thai, Khmer, or other Asian language.
