The Country Study (CS) provides an overview of how conducive to investments a specific market is, with a focus on regulation/supervision and the functioning of the financial/microfinance sector. It also provides a screening of the main market players, mapping out the most promising financial service providers and those that might represent a good fit for investment and/or technical assistance.

The Country Study is intended to help interested stakeholders to:
- Identify investment opportunities as well as opportunities for development and innovation in new markets and countries;
- Identify challenges and potential risks characterizing markets of interest and evaluate needs of technical and financial support;
- Identify promising financial service providers to facilitate deal sourcing.
